Marvel and DC characters who will Dominate the Box Office

2016 has truly been a year of superheroes. Many players have stolen the spotlight and fans couldn’t be happier. DC and Marvel have left their fans mesmerized by introducing numerous new costumed vigilantes. We have seen the DC Extended Universe’s own version of Batman, Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman and more as well as the movie Doctor Strange and Black Panther from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though not all has been rated excellent, watching new versions of villains and heroes on big screens for a comic book fan is the best treat.

As we welcomed 2017, the rivalry between Marvel and DC has started to ramp up. Many fresh characters will certainly take the spotlight. With this, a list of DC and Marvel characters who will probably steal the show has been compiled. Some of them are fresh, others have been in the industry but haven’t hit the Box Office yet. This compilation is based solely on the character’s potential for popularity, how they will impact the audience, and the excitement we feel to watch them on the big screen.

Baby Groot

Who would not adore this smaller version of the main character who is famous for his three-word utterance and a deep voice? Once a gargantuan powerhouse for 'Guardians of the Galaxy', he was reduced to a twig. However, he regrew into who we call 'Baby Groot' after being saved by Rocket. This adorable tree can be dangerous to enemies though he is low in intelligence. Moreover, he is one of the hottest characters online that everyone looks forward to in 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2'.

Etta Candy

Etta Candy, a character from the series 'Wonder Woman' of DC, is the first real and best friend of Diana (Wonder Woman) in the human world. Etta Candy is also an absolute badass. in the final scene of the most current trailer, Lucy Davis portrayal of Etta Candy has hinted us that it will be a great one. Etta is much awaited because of her funny and sharp character and as a woman who knows how to get by in the early 20th century.

Etta Candy is a fictional character appearing in DC Comics publications and related media, commonly as the best friend of the superhero, Wonder Woman. A spirited, vivacious young woman first appeared in Sensation Comics #2 (1942), written by Wonder Woman's creator William Moulton Marston

Aquaman

Hitting the box office has never been easy with 'Aquaman', but DC has never stopped popularizing the guy. With the appearance of Jason Momoa as Aquaman, however, the world has been captivated as they see a swim trunk superhero. Jason Momoa has been challenged to do what seems to be impossible – making 'Aquaman' cool again. Whether he will be successful or not is something we need to see as we watch the movie.

Mantis

Being played by James Gunn, Mantis obscure character in Marvel would surely turn into a much-adored one. Her being naïve will be an eminent source of laughter in the movie. Though she will play an amusing role, she will also prove herself in helping the band of culprits to protect the galaxy.

Mantis is a fictional character,  published by Marvel Comics. The character is a former member of the Avengers and also was ranked 99th in Comics Buyer's Guide's '100 Sexiest Women in Comics' list

Grandmaster

Being the Elder of the Universe, Grandmaster is the most significant from the perspective of a comic though the unknown comic character in Marvel. He will be seen next year at the MCU in 'Thor: Ragnarok' and will be portrayed by Jeff Goldblum. Moviegoers will surely love his character as he will be the overseer of the Gladiator battles where Hulk was forced to participate.

X-23

X-23’s character will be played by Sienna Novikov, who will be known in the film as Laura. X-23 is portrayed as Logan’s clone who takes part in his healing ability, his claws, and his adamantium skeleton. Although she was silent in Logan’s first trailer, most critics have been impressed by the footage.

X-23 was originally created by writer Craig Kyle for the 'X-Men: Evolution' television series before debuting in the NYX comic series in 2004

The Flash

Ezra Miller will play the role of Barry Allen aka The Flash in the movie. Miller has first appeared shortly in 'Batman V Superman'. Afterward, he was speculated to be making a cameo in the movie 'Suicide Squad', before joining the other DC characters in the movie 'Justice League'. According to from DC Extended Universe executive producer, moviegoers will enjoy this movie for having a lighter tone.

Hela

Being played by Cate Blanchett in 'Thor: Ragnarok', moviegoers are certain to watch the best superhero performance through this movie this 2017. Hela is the dead’s goddess who lives and controls the Asgardian death or the afterlife realm and one of the longtime opponent of the God of Thunder.

Hela was born in Jotunheim, the land of the giants. She is the child of Loki (albeit a different incarnation who died during a previous Asgardian Ragnarok) and the giantess Angrboða. When she came of age, Odin appointed her as the Goddess of Death, giving her rulership over the dead in the realms of Hel and Niflheim

Vulture

Played by Michael Keaton, a Vulture is unafraid and ruthless to do whatever he wants just to reach the top of the criminal’s underworld. Vulture is the leading antagonist in 'Spiderman: Homecoming'. This movie will surely inspire people to possess advanced technology gadgets.

The original Vulture  was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, and first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #2 (May 1963)

Valkyrie

Valkyrie has been much awaited by fans to watch in live action. In the movie 'Thor: Ragnarok', moviegoers will finally have the chance to see it happen. Her character will be portrayed by Tessa Thompson, Thor’s recent love interest. With her great sword and Asgardian skills, she will help Hulk and the God of Thunder from the villains’ plot.
