'Sing' - The musical film for animation lovers

Animated movies are bliss to watch as they are different from the regular films and most of them have an impressive screenplay as well. Hollywood has given us some really great animated films and the rate of success in them has been something worth noting.

If you love animated films, then perhaps you have fallen in love with the Chris Meledandri's Illumination entertainment productions such as ’Despicable me' and 'The Secret life of Pets'. Well, now there is a new movie stirring up interest among film lovers of this category, 'Sing'. This is an animated movie which can be rightfully placed in the category of 3D computer-animated musical comedy film.

'Sing' is the fourth animated feature film of 2016, next to 'Kung Fu Panda 3', 'The Angry Birds', and 'Zootopia, to be set in a world of anthropomorphic animals

The movie is directed by Garth Jennings, a pronounced British writer, and a director who has given to the world live-action films like 'Son of Rambow' and music videos like 'Lotus flower'.

Being a musical animated film, it has inspired more than 85 classic songs. These songs are from famous artists and having been themselves produced by some of the biggest names in the industry, are sure to add a melodious ambiance to your evening. Apart from this, the film also boasts of an original song named 'Faith'. This song has been sung by Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande.

The storyline

This animated film has a storyline that evokes images of struggles, hope, passion, and endurance. It is based on a Koala who is from a business family. Named as Buster, the Koala inherits a theater from his father. The mere act of inheriting the theater does not make the Koala so lucky as he has to contend with the arduous task of keeping the theater business alive and profitable.

So what does the Koala do? Does he borrow money? Does he hire artists? Of course, he has money and a brilliant mind, so he decides to keep the theater running by staging a singing competition. As the Koala announces his decision to run a competition, events follow that give the film a comic twist. Talk of the voices behind and you find star voices like that of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Tori Kelly, Taron Egerton and Nick Kroll falling in your ears.

Matthew McConaughey's is the third time in an animated film, the first was 'Kubo' and the 'Two Strings', also Scarlet Johanson's is third voice over role after 'The Jungle Book' and 'The SpongeBob SquarePants'

The comic turn of events

It is the clerical error done by Buster's secretary (known as Miss Crawley as she is the one-eyed lizard and she gets her voice from Jennings) that causes loads of greedy individuals to appear for the competition. Well, let's not keep you guessing, the elderly lizard by mistake makes the $1,000 prize money to $100,000 and this mistake culminates in really funny events as more and more unique characters come into play.

The characters

The film features Reese Witherspoon as Rosita. She is the pig with 25 kids. Also, we have Scarlett Johansson as Ash, an emotionally unstable porcupine. Apart from this, you can find Johnny's voice through the teen gorilla ( this Gorilla belongs to the thieves family). Plus you have the really frightened elephant named Meena ( perfectly voiced by Tori Kelly).

With all the sizzling drama and the unpredictability, the film is definitely a must watch.
