During the auditions, he was asked if he could ride a horse. He spontaneously replied yes to the question to land on the role. However, he didn’t ride a horse since he was 4 years old. At the actual shooting event, the horse got a bit cranky and Redmayne almost blew the production scene. Tom Hooper, an Oscar-winning director was furious enough to pick a megaphone, and scream, 'You are a f*****g liar, Redmayne!'

Eddie won an Oscar for playing Stephen Hawking in 'The Theory of Everything' and became one of 17 actors to win the Award for playing a real person who was still alive at the evening of the Award ceremony

4.The actor is quite active on the romantic front

The actor got engaged to Hannah Bagshawe and has been with her since 2012. Eddie said that the way of how he met his wife was embarrassing. 'It was an embarrassing evening. Hannah was at a girls' school near Eton and they invited some of our guys over to do a fashion show for charity. I had to walk across the stage topless - I was this pasty, freckly guy and when I came on the girls in the audience didn't take much notice of me, but I was followed by the best-looking boy in the school and all the girls erupted in cheers, which was emotionally scarring! I saw Hannah across the room at a party afterward and she was very beautiful and very funny and she loves the arts and theater just as I do, so we became friends. I'd finished rehearsals (for 'Les Miserables') and was about to start shooting in a few days and so I said to myself, 'I'm going to go to Florence for a quick break and write or do something like that'. Before I went, Hannah and I were on a sort of date - we'd been good friends for 12 years - and we had a wonderful evening and I suddenly said, 'You don't want to come to Florence with me next week, do you?' She said, 'That's absurd, you don't mean it.' I said, 'Yes I do!' So our first proper date was in Florence. That was three years ago and we couldn't be happier'. Redmayne, however, acted old-school when he asked her father for permission to marry her. On 15 June 2016, Eddie and Hannah welcomed their first child, Iris Mary Redmayne.

He adores the beast as its clingy and is a bit sentimental towards attachments. The key to its perfection is that its face is almost invisible, but it still manages to react to movements.

‘It’s really difficult because I fall in love with different ones every day,’ he said. ‘Pickett is my favorite. Pickett, I adore because he’s clingy and he’s got attachment issues but I also love that he’s so spindly and stick-insecty. You almost can’t see his face but he reacts through his movement'
