'Sherlock' season 4 trailer debuts at Comic-Con

Officially, it has been over two years since the last season of BBC series 'Sherlock' was telecast and fans have been eagerly waiting for the new season. Fans watching the trailer of the new season get to see just Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes, but also a new villain played by Toby Jones. The trailer debuted at Comic-Con San Diego. The teaser, "Everything they know will be tested,” has already upped the curiosity among fans looking forward to the new season.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson

Official video trailer has realesed
In the trailer video fans saw the calm Dr. John Watson played by Martin Freeman along with a very upset Molly Hopper played by Louise Brealey and Mary Morstan or should we say Mrs. Watson played by Amanda Abbington (with gun in hand), Detective Inspector Greg Lestrade played by Rupert Graves (defending himself) and Mrs. Hudson played by Una Stubbs calling the brother of Sherlock, Mycroft Holmes played by Mark Gatiss a "reptile."The sad fact is that there is no scene of Sherlock with his bloodhound so far. You do have images of creepy nurses, and a menacing looking Toby and a shocked Sherlock. What about the message “miss me” by the villain presumed dead, Jim Moriarty played by Andrew Scott in the last season? Fans have to wait for the premiere of the 4th season to get the answer to this question.

In the first trailer launch of the 4th series, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Amanda Abbington joined the producer Sue Vertue and the co-creators of the show, Mark Gatiss, and Steven Moffat. The new season promises to be more action filled than the previous seasons and has been intoned with “something's coming”. It may be an indication that Jim Moriarty is coming back or maybe it is not. But one thing is for sure that something is definitely coming.

The last show of the previous season ended with Jim Moriarty seemingly coming back to life even after shooting himself in the face. Sherlock Holmes, however, figured that in the Christmas Special 2016 'The Abominable Bride' that Moriarty may actually be dead. This does not mean an end to the criminal mastermind and that there is no threat from him to Holmes and his friends. Things could get messy and the archival can return to trouble Sherlock once again.

With Toby Jones joining the show as another classic villain of Arthur Conan Doyle, things can only get complicated. Holmes and Dr. Watson may have to face trouble from both the bad guys and this makes the new series much more interesting. This can be really challenging as Holmes and his friends are pitted against not just one but two brilliant minds plotting to end them.
A playful video is also showed in the panel. This depicts how it was decided as to who will go to see the fans when the trailer for the 4th season is launched at Comic-Con. Sherlock returns to the BBC in 2017 and fans in U.S may be able to see it all on PBS shortly afterward.
