Finding Dory's Family: A new underwater adventure

Thirteen years ago Pixar introduced us to an adorable set of characters that were the driving force behind the super successful animated movie called Finding Nemo. Truth be told, the majority of us wanted to continue this underwater adventure right away because it was fun, endearing, and heartwarming. Finding Nemo was an exquisite animated adventure that left us wanting more. So when Pixar announced that the sequel is coming, absolutely everyone was ecstatic and thrilled. Sure enough, the audience who grew up with Nemo is in their twenties now so we are sure that Finding Dory will attract a wide range of movie goers who are eager to find out what happened to their favorite characters after the first movie.

Finding Dory trailer
Played for the first time on The Ellen Show (which is absolutely perfect since Ellen DeGeneres actually voices Dory), Finding Dory trailer became an instant hit all over the internet. As you might have guessed from the very title of this sequel, the entire story is focused on Dory and her efforts to find her family while constantly forgetting what she is looking for in the first place. She had a brief recollection of her past and she seems to remember a tiny detail of her origin. We also see other familiar characters – Marlin and Nemo, who are clearly packing their bags and going on this crazy adventure with Dory. The trailer looks great, it reveals just enough to help us figure out the general plot, but also keep us interested.

The cast
The cast of Finding Dory includes some of the biggest names of modern Hollywood. Dory is voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, and Albert Brooks also returned as the voice of Marlin. The rest of the cast includes Idris Elba as Fluke, Diane Keaton as Jenny, Eugene Levy as Charlie, and Ed O’Neill as Hank. It is an excellent list of comedians that will make us laugh so hard, for sure.

Our verdict
Pixar knows how to create an excellent story which will hold your interest from the very beginning and keep you engaged in the movie for hours. Since Finding Nemo was a huge success for this studio and still has a large fan base among many generations, worldwide success of Finding Dory is inevitable. The shift from Marlin and Nemo to Dory will bring freshness to this sequel because watching another animated movie where Marlin looks for Nemo might have been a bit too much.

However, now we have a completely different plot and it involves our favorite characters solving a brand new problem – finding Dory’s family. We will learn a lot about her upbringing and find out how she learned to speak whale which remained a mystery after the first movie. Even though it took Pixar thirteen years to create this movie, it seems like it will be worth the wait. Let’s just hope there will be the third movie as well one day because these characters are simply adorable and the underwater setting is breathtaking. Finding Dory will arrive in theaters this June.
