Priyanka Chopra to star in 'Baywatch' remake as villain Victoria Leeds

Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, is not only making headlines for her versatile performances in Box Office, but also in "Baywatch" remake and American Hit series "Quantico" where she is playing the role FBI agent Alex Parish. The "Bajirao Mastani" star is the latest actress to make Indians and Non-Resident Indian (NRI) community proud. She looks determined to break the Conventional spitting image of Bollywood films on American televisions with her stint of excellent performance in "Quantico". To everyone’s surprise, she appeared in the red carpet with popular Box Office stars where she became the first Bollywood celeb to present an Oscar.

Chopra to play villain in "Baywatch" remake

Recently, there were rumors that Queen Chopra will appear in "Baywatch", a remake of the 90's classic "Baywatch" series. These rumors are confirmed to be true and she is already working on the film together with other top-notch actors. She will play Victoria Leeds, a sexy villain in "Baywatch" alongside Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

She was warmly welcomed by the cast, and Dwayne Johnson took on social media to post a great message flattering the Miss World pageant of 2000. Later, the actor posted a video of his and Chopra saying, " PeeCee is one the biggest actresses in the World. Very talented, persistently hardworking, and perfect for #BAYWATCH. Welcome @Priyanka Chopra to our amazing dysfunctional crew. Next week we start shooting!" Chopra replied back saying, "I love being bad, it is the high time we tell you officially!! #Baywatch". The post was followed by words of praise for Dwayne Johnson and the film the cast; this was after she met with the squad in Miami, USA.

In one of her interviews, she stated that she was first approached for a different role in the film but she was later given the role of Victoria Leeds a villain. She says the part was originally written for a man until when she talked with the director (Seth Gordon) through Skype, about her being offered a different role in the film. The director advised her to play the villain role despite her being a woman, so, the script was reworked. Chopra is excited to feature in a film that is based on a TV show that she grew up watching. She mentioned that she grew up loving the 90's classic series and she was a fan of David Hasselhoff. David Hasselhoff will join the team, but it is not clear the role that he will be offered.

The Bollywood actress will be united in the movie by Rohrbach Kelly as C. Parker, the role formerly taken by P. Anderson in the 90's series, and Hadera Ilfenesh who will star as Dwayne’s love interest.

Her recent instagram post suggests the star has finished shooting her part. She shared a picture of her looking out of her car window saying, "Something exciting about Miami! Last night’s shoot! Why is being bad so good? # Leeds you will be missed! #Baywatch… on to the next one! See you next time!"

"Baywatch" is expected to premier on May 19, 2017. The movie is still being worked on and shooting started from early march and will be directed by Seth Gordon.
