Which member of the Criminal Minds original cast leaves the show?

Criminal Minds is a television series show that premiered on CBS network 11 years ago. Its premiere was on the 22nd of September 2005. It’s a show which involves an elite squad of FBI profilers whose work generally focusses on analyzing and profiling all the top criminal minds in the country. They all work in unison, serially sourcing for and researching on the files of the infamous criminals they can get their hands on.

It began with several cast, some of which are Matthew Gray (Spencer Reid), Shemar Moore (Derek Morgan), Kristen Vangsness (Penelope Garcia) amongst others. The series has so far run and broadcasted 11 seasons. But sadly again, another member of its original cast, has decided to call it quits. This cast member is Shemar Moore, who has after 11 years decided to go and put emphasis on his personal life.

Derek Morgan, first appeared on the episode, Extreme Aggressor, which aired on march 22nd 2005, the premiere and ended his long span on march 23rd 2016 on the episode A Beautiful Disaster. Derek, was an FBI special agent, married to the beautiful Savannah Hayes. He dealt with fixations and obsessive behaviors in the Supervisory Special Agency. Although he was married, Derek Morgan has always had the hots for the quite hot technical analyst, Penelope Garcia, whom he has always been flirting with on very many occasions. This trait, which he seems very perfect at, combined with being confident, assertive and very protective, put him in a very good position to pick up girls for his very good friend, Spencer Reid.

Apart from being flirtatious and all, Derek Morgan was the FBI’s elite teams’ muscle. This trait always came in handy when a criminal who needed physical and aggressive apprehension was required. This therefore, combined with his other special skills, made him a very important character in CBS Criminal Minds.

Shemar Moore in Criminal Minds Season 11

For most fanatics and Criminal Minds lovers, this came as a very unexpected twist of events. Maybe, it was because for someone being part of the cast of a TV series for more than 10 years, there is always the tendency to assume that he was going to be there like forever. They expected that he would have stayed for fur much further. Also, for the ladies out there who were so smitten on him with his good looks, muscles and all, it came as a very huge blow to them.

But listening to the reasons why Derek Morgan left, it is understandable to some extent why he may have left. He claimed that he was slowly running out of juice, and that he was feeling that he was becoming rusty, but definitely, he should have stayed for a little time longer. He put it very clearly that he had to leave and take care of his family, and from a father’s perspective, no one can argue with him about this fact.

Criminal Minds' cast

On his part, he clearly regrets leaving the family of Criminal Minds. He clearly claims that being with people for such a long time, they begin feeling like family. He claims that on his part he will gravely miss the cast and the fans, but all in all, all the millions of fan all over, will really miss the face of Derek Morgan on their Television screens.
