It even already has six WTF moments which include that squeal, the potty talk, the dutiful dad, the panic, this splat and the chill. Previously, The Nice Guys was set to be released on June 17, 2016, but the date was later moved to an earlier one by Warner Bros, resulting to it being scheduled for May 20, 2016. These gave it’s earlier date to the film Central Intelligence. It was reported that the film got investments from Cutting Edge Group. The Nice Guys features Russell Crowe playing the role of Jackson Healy, Ryan Gosling as Holland March, Matt Bomer, Angourie Rice acting as Holly March, Keith David, Margaret Qualley acting as Amealia and Kim Basinger as Amelia’s mother. This film comes 18 years after Russell Crowe’s L.A. Confidential in which he collaborated with Kim Basinger who had termed his role in this film as a surprise to him. Russell gets to share the screen for a second time with Ryan Gosling who is famous for the films Big Short and Half Nelson. The Oscar winner is famous for films like Man of Steel and the Gladiator. The announcement for the making of the film was made in June 2014 where it was supposed that Russell and Ryan would direct it. Joel Silver was to be the producer while Warner Bros was to acquire North American Rights to it. Later that year, several stars including Margaret Qualley, Kim Basinger, Keith Davis, Beau Knapp, Jack Kilmer and Matt Bomer joined the film. The principal photography for the film begun later on October 27, 2014, while the filming taking place in both Atlanta and Los Angeles. The first trailer for the film is out and it looks exactly like the other Shane Black movies. Once again he has done what he does best, making 'friends who become enemies' solve a case. In this film, two mismatched characters, Russell and Ryan are forced to join hands in solving a mystery which deepens in this comedy.

The film is set in the 1970’s Los Angeles. Russell finds himself involved in a mystery that surrounds a young woman who commits suicide. The only guy who can help him is Ryan , an incompetent private detective whom he has once brushed shoulders with while on another job. This private investigator and single father, Holland March is now forced to work with the hired enforcer Crow, Jackson Healy to solve the mystery of two deaths, a mystery of a missing girl and the death of a ponster. As the two work to put their differences aside so as to try and solve the case, they get more than they expected. They get to uncover shocking conspiracies that leads to higher circles of power, and perhaps many are going to die.
