The return of the Assassin's Creed on big screens

A few days ago, New Regency and Ubisoft announced that the movie adaptation of the video game franchise Assassins Creed will hit the theaters in December 2016. The idea seems pretty amazing. A video game adaptation might not seem like a movie that Justin Kurzel, Marion Cotillard, and Michael Fassbender would take after the production of William Shakespeare's Macbeth. But you can just assume that they will create something great that will appear on the box office on 21st of December, 2016.

The movie will feature the same story structure as the Assassin's Creed video game with the hero being sent back in past using a time machine in order to recover certain artifacts from his ancestors, most of whom turn out to be assassins. The idea that the story revolves around multiple predecessors suggests that the plot from several of the games will be included. The movie will be directed by Justin Kurzel and Michael Fassbender will play the lead role.

It has also been confirmed that Marion Cotillard, famous for her roles in Inception and the Dark Knight will also be on board. There is no information as to what role she will be playing, however, following reports that the plot will be set in both the Inquisition era Spain and modern era Europe, and that Michael will be playing double roles, there is a possibility that Marion will too.And if you believe in the gossips, Michael Fassbender will be playing the role of Callum Lynch, a death row convict who is used as a pawn in the struggle between the Templars and the Assassins. The plot will be based on a script written by relatively unknown playwright Michael Lesslie and edited by Scott Frank.

The film follows the legend of Callum Lynch who experiences the adventures of his great ancestor in Inquisition-era Spain. Lynch discovers that he is descended from a secret and powerful society of the Assassins and accumulate incredible knowledge and power to take on the Templar organization in the contemporary era.
The sources also say that the story has gone through several rewrites and revisions and that it will be respectful of the game. However, it will also include new elements and perhaps a new vision of the things that already exist in the game. Marion Cotillard and Michael Fassbender have never played the role of a game character prior to getting the main roles in the Assassins Creed.

They have been working on their roles since just to get an idea of the strength of the characters. They are trying to find something special. As a matter of fact, the movie and the concept around it are just great and it has the potential to become the blockbuster of the year.

After playing the game and reading a lot about secret societies and Medieval era Europe, the writer Michael Lesslie and editor Scott Frank says that they have discovered a lot of unique things and are doing everything to create something different. Well, we have to wait till 21st of December to enjoy the ride. Will the movie be just like the video game or will it present something different? Just wait and watch.
