Togetherness is probably the best new comedy series of 2015

Now, if there is a TV series that’s “keeping it real” then it got to be Togetherness comedy series.

I mean, movies and TV shows are supposed to take us to another world, away from reality. They are supposed to help us escape reality, and that’s why we love movies and TV series.

But that’s no with Togetherness. This show is a direct reflection of our real lives, especially for anyone who is 30 years and above.

Togetherness is a show about four characters who need each other in order to grow and take their individual lives to the next level. These characters have realized that they are already on their twenties yet aren’t as fulfilled as they thought they would.

That is, they are not as “happy” as they thought life would be by the time they are in their thirties. Some have kids but without stable jobs or something to call an achievement.

Anyone whose life didn’t pun the way they imagined when they were young must relate to this comedy series. Togetherness is not only hilarious and comedic, but is also something that we relate to.

Everything about the show is real and authentic to an extent when you watch it; the show feels like a reality TV – from nudity to emotional breakdowns, and even the jokes too!

Okay, we’ve seen quite a number of TV series about relationships. But Togetherness isn’t like the others. It has taken a totally different path. It is simple yet potent and intriguing, which is then augmented by quirky humor that glazes through the harsh realities of struggling in life.

The show is a creation of the Duplass brothers (Mark & Jay), popularly known for The Skeleton Twins and Safety Not Guaranteed. The brothers are probably the reason why Togetherness TV series has a different touch and feel to it.

Remember that the Duplass brothers are known for their indie movies, and we all know just how “real” indie movies tend to be. And thus the uniqueness about this HBO TV series.

The plot of Togetherness TV series is about Brett and Michelle who were high school sweethearts and got married young with kids, and are trying to reignite what their lost love, which lacks romance and passion they had when they first met.

However, this proves to be an uphill task since they are both finding it difficult to balance their responsibilities and the worries and anxieties they have.

Brett has a best friend, Alex, who is an actor and has been playing small roles in Hollywood for quite a number of years now.

He’s recently been evicted from his apartment and so he is at a quandary on whether he should stop acting and find something totally different to do. This proves difficult since he is older and he is (maybe) too late.

The fourth character is Michelle’s sister, Tina, who doesn’t seem to have a stable job or relationship. She is afraid that she’s getting older, and that her beautiful looks are fading. She doesn’t know what to do with her life.

Basically, all the characters in Togetherness TV series are in a dilemma of some sort. And so which of the four are seeing yourself to relate to?

This is probably one of the best breakout TV shows in 2015. You should give it a shot.
