Mark Wahlberg battles with Will Ferrell to win over the affection of kids

Mark Wahlberg can be described as one of the very few actors who make it from nothing.

Coming from a family of 9 (he’s the youngest), and from a poor working class district of Dorchester in Boston, Mark Wahlberg has managed to make a name of his own in Hollywood.

Now that he’s more than $200 million net worth, and happily married to model Rhea Durham, Mark Wahlberg has become a household name for blockbuster movies.

Perhaps that’s why Will Ferrell decided to team up with him again on another comedy movie. They previously worked on 2010’s 'The Other Guys’ which, as expected, was a blockbuster.

'The Other Guys’ was a comedy action movie filled with car chases and gun shooting all over the movie. But with their upcoming movie 'Daddy’s Home’ is all about family – and comedy, of course.

In their new movie 'Daddy’s Home’ is due for release on Christmas Day. And it’s about Will Ferrell’s character trying hard to impress Mark Wahlberg’s kids. These two actors battle it out on the movie as they try to win the affection of the children.

Here, Mark Wahlberg acts as a “cool” dad even though he’s been divorced with their mother. The kids seem to like him a lot, so it leaves Will Ferrell’s character, Brad, doing all he can not to lose them to Dusty (Mark Wahlberg).

The 'Daddy’s Home’ is a second comedy movie for Mark Walberg this year, after he starred in Seth McFarlane’s summer hit 'Ted’

'The Italian Job’ star is a solid comedy actor, which he has proved in 'Ted’ sequels and 'The Other Guys’

He is one actor who has made a serious transition from a disturbed teen, who was occasionally arrested for disturbances and fights.

Even though Marky Mark (as he was commonly referred back then when he was a rapper) is a changed man, his past sometimes still haunts, especially now that he’s got four kids.

He’s always trying hard to bring up his children in the best way possible. For instance, during an interview with ET, and in comparison to his role in 'Daddy’s Home,’ he opened up how he is a great dad in real life.

When he was asked what about the most elaborate gift he has ever given his real life children, he answered by saying that he once took his 12 year old daughter Ella to a Taylor Swift concert, where she got to meet the singer.

The kids then took photos with Taylor Swift backstage. But that wasn’t enough. Mark Wahlberg also invited wrestling champion The Big Show to his home to meet his kids. He did this because all his four kids are wrestling buffs.

It turns out, just like in 'Daddy’s Home’ trailer, Mark Wahlberg is an awesome dad in real life too.

However, Mark also believes that he doesn’t want his children to be spoilt, but wants them to grow up and be good people. And not as rebellious as he was.

Mark Wahlberg admits that it’s difficult trying to give his kids what he never had, while at the same time not spoil them. Back in 2011, Mark took his children to Dorchester in Boston, the poor street where he grew up.

“I just want them to understand that not everyone is privileged, and that hard work can make dreams come true,” he revealed.
