GREY'S ANATOMY SPINOFF: HOT AND ON FIRE

There always comes a time in life where we run out of the seasons that we want to watch. Here’s the good news: we’re getting a new drama to run 6 seasons!

With its 14th season on the way, "Grey’s Anatomy" has definitely turned out to be quite a success for ABC Studios. Yes, we’ve definitely enjoyed watching the struggles, emotions and problems faced in the medical profession (even cried over some of them).

This is why, with its popularity still on the rise even after its first spin-off by the name of "Private Practice", we now have another spin-off
in store for us: a spin-off involving firefighters in Seattle.

George will remain a regular on “Grey’s” throughout the upcoming fourteenth season, until production begins on the spinoff.

Let’s admit it. We’ve all wanted an insight into it. Who doesn’t like a bit of action combined with drama focusing on saving people from burning buildings and falling factories? (That’s probably the only reason we were so obsessed with Batman and Superman, to be
honest.) And now the news of the spin-off definitely has most of us holding on tight to our seats for the season to be premiered and launched.

While the name of the drama has still not been decided (although we might have some pretty good names like "Seattle Firehouse" ), the cast of the season has almost been decided. The news sources have been claiming that there might be some occasional appearances from the motherhood series in the spinoff.

Jaina Lee Ortiz is known for her starring role as Detective Annalise Villa on the 2015–2017 Fox police drama "Rosewood".

The cast members that have been decided by now have been announced in different news sources. They include Jaina Lee Ortiz (whose character name has not yet been divulged), Jason George (as Dr. Ben Warren – yes, he’s jumping ships), Grey Damon (Lt. Jack Gibson – a charming, charismatic firefighter), Miguel Sandoval (Capt Pruitt – tough, respectable and loved), Okieriete Onaodowan (Dean – the single
firefighter every lady wants), Danielle Savre (Maya – an ex-Olympic athlete who is unapologetic and ambitious), Jay Hayden (Travis – the funny, gay firefighter), Barrett Doss (Victoria – the prankster) and Alberto Frezza (Ryan – a clever, sensitive and troublemaking police officer).

With all the cast almost announced, the season plans on giving insights into the private lives and work lives of all the characters as they work together to save people and bring them out of danger. This spin-off by Rhimes’ Shonda shall be written by Stacy McKee, Grey’s executive producer.

"I just try to work with what I'm given and make it the best I can."Grey Damon

However, news has it that like "Private Practice", the spinoff is expected to complete six seasons and 10 episodes per series. In the
middle of this fall’s season of "Grey’s Anatomy", it is expected that the season or cast will be introduced before being run on air. Dr. Ben and Bailey are expected to part ways in Grey’s Anatomy ever since Dr. Ben has been listed as a character in the new spin-off. While the news has it that there may be some crossovers, Jason George (Dr. Ben) has claimed that the new season shall be “completely different”.

This is the first major project for Onaodowan since his publicized departure from the Broadway production of Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812 in August.

With "Grey’s Anatomy" on the go, we’re now all looking forward to the upcoming season. News sources have been vigilant in reporting all the casting, roles and expected plots (even the expected plot changes in "Grey’s Anatomy"). Along with that, the season characters have also been keeping us updated, with Jay Hayden’s Instagram post about the spin-off becoming hot, fast and really intense.

It is safe to say that with its excellent cast and powerful plot, Shondaland’s drama is sure to be worth the news hype.
