What 'Deadpool' 2 May or May does not have in Store for the Fans

Ryan Reynolds will be back on the big screens as the Merc with the Mouth in 'Deadpool 2' that got the green light from the 20th Century Fox Studios last year. The first installation of 'Deadpool' was a phenomenal success and is actually one of the most successful films in the 'X-Men' franchise despite its modest budget. Although fans will have quite the wait before they can interact with our favorite antihero as he repeatedly breaks the fourth wall, but there are some interesting tidbits about the movie that are making it to light on what to expect from 'Deadpool' 2.

The sequel was announced 3 days before the release of Deadpool

Of course, the first thing we needed to know about Deadpool 2 is whether Reynolds was reprising his role as the witty unwilling hero and who else would be back. Morena Baccarin and TJ Miller have both hinted of reprising their roles as Vanessa Carlysle, Deadpool’s love interest, and Weasel, Deadpool’s sidekick respectively. The return of Colossus, Dopinder the taxi driver and Negasonic Teenage Warhead are all however confirmed so we can look to their respective self-righteousness, misguided actions, and brood in 'Deadpool' 2.

'Deadpool' was the first R-rated movie to open above $100 million at the U.S. Box Office

Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are back as the film’s writing team but Tim Miller left the creative team after reportedly having creative differences with Reynolds. It’s alleged that Miller did not agree with the direction that Reynolds wanted the film to take particularly with the tone that Cable was to cast in. David Leitch who is behind John Wick which stars Keanu Reeves took over the helm and will head the direction team.

Ryan Reynolds' full body makeup took eight hours to apply. Once it was on, he was not able to sit or lie down

It is confirmed though that Cable will be Deadpools’ new foe although his back-story will need to be streamlined since the two have such a long history in the comics. Cable is Cyclops’ son who is sent to the future for training so that he can stop the apocalypse and make a better future. He and Deadpool meet under controversial circumstances and their relationship continues to be complicated. Domino is also set to play a key role which makes sense since she and Cable have close ties. The mercenary mutant who has excellent hand-to-hand and marksmanship skills and has probability-altering powers will be a key part of the story.

Cable will be Deadpools’ new foe

The release date is yet to be announced but with filming starting this year, the film will most likely premier in 2018. It is still going to poke fun at other superhero films and sequels like the pointed jokes it made at the 'X-Men' franchise throughout 'Deadpool' from its intro. The working title for the film 'Love Machine' is said to be poking fun at the Semi-mechanical Cable who is joining the cast.It is also going to follow the trend set by the first movie in terms of budgeting. The first movie had a $58 million budget and 'Deadpool' 2 won’t go overboard either but it is still expected to do as well as its predecessor. Casting is now already underway and a lot of actors have expressed interest in the roles of Cable and Domino. If everything remains constant, the film will be on screens early next year with the mouthy character taking center stage even as he unleashes carnage on rivals.
