X-Men - The Days of Future have passed, the Apocalypse came, and the verdict is: a box office hit!

The “X-Men: Apocalypse” sequel did its debut on the 9th of May in London and first reviews are in, and like any cocktail, they’re mixed. But, either there are contingents of die-hard X-Men fans out there or the audiences are not paying much to the reviews (yet), the box office reports for the first few days of “X-Men: Apocalypse” screening show that cash is having a steady flow into the producer’s hands. And although the first reviews mostly point out some weaknesses with the script, it smells like a hit.

To fill those that have not been initiated so far, here are the basic details about the movie:
“X-Men: Apocalypse” is directed by true and trusted Bryan Singer, the director of the hugely successful X-Men predecessor, “Days of Future Past”. As expected, the movie boasts a solid cast of stars, including James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Oscar Isaac (of the “Inside Lewlyn Davis”) in the role of the main villain here, Apocalypse himself.

Briefly told, although “X-Men: Apocalypse” cannot really count among the shorter movies around, Apocalypse, or En Sabah Nur, the first mutant known to the World proclaimed as a god in 3600 BC Egypt is brought back from the grave to time approximately ten years after the “Days of the Future” to destroy everything and instigate the creation of the world of mutants. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse come into the fray, so does Magneto, and it all starts winding down when Professor X has to square off with Apocalypse in the psychic realm.

The first reviews are certain that the fans of X-Men will love the movie no matter what. The support from other viewers is surely to come for, what is said, not only the solid cast, but also great effects that are used. Although a lot of new characters are introduced, it seems that Singer was able to pull out that none of them suffocate each other. As the scene that all fans and moviegoers will appreciate, reviewers point out the one where Quicksilver (Evan Peters), using his amazing speed, breezes through Apocalypse’s domain, saving people from explosion to the tune of The Eurythmics hit “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)”.

As another peek into this new X-Men movie, James McAvoy revealed what was his favorite scene in the movie: and the winner is, as might have been expected, the final battle between Professor X and Apocalypse, a kind of scene that X-Men comic and animated series fans have been hoping all along to be included in one of the X-Men movies. McAvoy reveals that such a battle scene was planned to be used in “First Class”, one of the previous incarnations of the movie. McAvoy adds that he was really pleased to do this sequence
Since a little battle was added to spice up the psychic side of it.

On the other hand, Jennifer Lawrence revealed what was the hardest scene in the movie for her to do. The “winner” was the scene when she was being strangled by Apocalypse. And that would not have been hard to guess: how would you feel being in a harness and lifted by your genitalia?

Whatever the reviews say, it seems it is time to brush up on your diet and prepare yourself for all that popcorn you will need to see this movie through.
