Mark your calendars! Homeland returns this October

Get ready, “homelanders”! Your favorite US thriller starring beautiful Claire Danes and Rupert Friend is bound to return with the season 6 premiere on October 2, 2016, according to recent speculation and rumors. Whether the date is exact or not, the show will definitely be back in the fall. We’ve got even better news; when asked about an end date for the show, the producers said that they had only very vague discussions about it, so no need to worry about that – Homeland is here to stay, at least for a few more seasons.

Homeland Season 6 to be set in New York City

When season 5 left us all hanging after the weird finale between Carrie (Claire Danes) and Quinn (Rupert Friend), many of us thought this was it for Quinn and he would be announced dead. Well, he might…or maybe not. We’ll definitely have to see it for ourselves when season 6 returns, but meantime, we did a little sneak peaking of our own to find some of the latest Homeland season 6 spoilers.

When season 6 returns, the action will take place in New York, covering some of the most intense political and economic issue that happened there in the past years or are currently happening. Although no one is sure what subject the TV show will approach, many tend to think it will be at least one of the major events that made worldwide headlines in the past one or two decades. This being said, here are the most talked about hypotheses: the death of Osama Bin Laden; the tragic event that happened at 9/11 in 2001 when the twin towers collapsed and even Donald Trump’s candidacy for US President at this year’s elections.

But where does this leave Claire and Quinn? It might be simple rumors or wishful thinking, but some say Peter Quinn will come back. However, Gary Levin, the showtime programming head, declared that if he does come back, he will not be the same again. Hmm, what could that mean? He was clearly damaged when the show’s season 5 ended, but things are still very unsure for him. We’ll definitely have to hang in there until season 6 returns.

The New York Times, on the other hand, focuses on a different, yet quite interesting story angle. Something or someone from seasons 1-4, that was not in season 5 though, will be returning to torment Carrie’s bipolar mind. Her diagnosis will definitely have an impact on how she chooses to act and live life, so who knows what effect New York will have on her? Will this take a totally interesting toll in the whole TV show? Here’s another reason to looking forward to season 6 airing in October.
Meanwhile, Homeland star Damian Lewis is being chased (James Bond style) by 007 boss, Barbara Broccoli.

Instead of sitting and waiting for Daniel Craig to decide if he’s had enough days as a secret agent or he can pull one last James Bond stunt, Barbara decided to be proactive and look for the next 007. Well, not so much look for him, but chase him for the past 18 months. At least that’s what she did with Damian Lewis. To be honest, Damian Lewis’s face fits perfectly in the array of stunningly handsome men that have played James Bond over the years.
