'How to be single' movie review

How to be Single is a 2016 romantic comedy movie. This movie is about the misadventures that women in the city get into with the hope of finding love. There have been numerous attempts by other producers before to come up with a similar storyline. Some of them succeeded and some failed miserably. So what makes How to Be Single different from other romantic comedies with the same angle? This movie is different because, although the storyline is something we have heard before, there is uniqueness about it and the actors that play in this movie are beyond talented. This movie is based on the novel How to be single’ by Liz Tuccillo.

Plot

There is a wrong and right way to be single but then there is Alice, Meg, Lucy, Robin, David and Tom. New York city is a place that has so many lonely hearts and each of these hearts is looking for a kind of connection. For some, love is the answer. They need to find the perfect girl or guy who will complete them and they will live happily ever after. For others, a simple one night stand will do because all they are looking for is a simple connection. In a place where everyone has a different definition of love, these characters need to find a way to be single since sleeping around is not that fun after all. This is a movie that will get you wondering about your single life and whether you also need to figure out how to live single and love it.

Production

The novel How to be Single’ was released back in the year 2008. It is in the same year that the rights to produce the movie were bought as well. Lily Collins was rumoured to be a part of the cast but apparently did not appear in the cast when the movie was released. It is in 2015 that Dakota Johnson, Leslie Mann and Rebel Wilson were cast for the movie.

How to be Single is a movie that has received a lot of positive reviews and a good share of bad ones at the same time. A number of fans think the plot was really good while others don't share the same sentiments. On rotten tomatoes, it got a 49% in average. There are 116 reviews that led to this score. This means that majority of the people are not pleased with this movie at all. Most people claim that there is no originality in this movie and the actors in the movie are very talented for such a movie. It seems that the producers and writers did not do such a good job of executing the movie.
