Jared Leto's gifts to the 'Suicide Squad' cast

Jared Leto is an amazing actor who takes on his roles seriously; perhaps even more seriously than he should. In the new movie directed by David Ayer’s, Leto plays a demented character by the name of The Joker. The face paint, the emo tattoos and the crazy ideas his character has have probably gotten into his head too. This character though thoroughly exciting to watch is not a very welcome character in real life. Something that perhaps someone should have hinted to Jared before he sent those creepy gifts to his co- stars. Apparently, he was trying to show them that he is ready to do whatever it takes to get the role perfect and increase the ratings for the show.

According to Adam Beach who is also a super villain in the show said that Jared presented his co- stars with “presents” that were completely weird and that he told incredibly strange stories to them too. He gave bullets to Will Smith, game Margot Robbie a love letter, which came with a black box and a live rat. He did not just stop here. According to Beach, Leto went on to create a whole video of the cast, which included a dead hog.

In his statement, Beach and the cast seem to have been on owe of the man and his ability to have two sides to himself that are very impressive. One side that he says is working very hard to make sure that the show is a complete success and that people continue to talk about it for years to come. A side that shows he is ready to do whatever it takes not to let his teammates down. He also has another psychotic side that is utterly strange and that entails behavior that should be feared. Beach calls both sides “genuine”.

Viola Davis recalls vividly their introduction to Jared Leto who apparently made his first appearance as the joker by paying a henchman to deliver his gift to them. The henchman walked in carrying a dead pig, which he left on the table and walked out. The worst part of this stunt is that the pig was placed on the table in the green room where people eat. If that does not gross you out, what does?

In the Batman project, there have been so many people who have tried to play the part of The Joker. Nevertheless there have not been any people who actually took to the character and went as deep and good as Jared Leto did. A previous Joker, the late Heath Ledger was congratulated for the light mood he maintained while playing the character. He was mostly loved because he never took the character to heart or let all the pressure to be perfectly evil get to him. Leto on the other hand, is taking a completely opposite approach by perhaps taking his character too far and being too serious about it. Will this approach work? Maybe, maybe not but it has certainly helped him make headlines!
