Race is a sports drama film that is a based on the life of Jesse Owens an African America Athlete. This is the first biopic film about Jesse Owens. The story is basically about Jesse Owens life and the hurdles he overcame in order to win the Olympic gold medals at the Olympic Games in berlin 1936. This is a very interesting movie because it takes you into the life of the athlete and you are able to see the factors and challenges that led him to where he is today. It is a movie that will teach people endurance and give them an understanding into Owens life. Most people believe that being an athlete is all about talent and there are no major challenges faced by athletes along the way. Production

The Race is directed by Stephen Hopkins and written by Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel. Owens does not play himself in this movie like some people thought. His character is played by Stephen James who replaced John Boyega who had been given the role initially. John Boyega turned down the offer and chose to star in Star Wars. The movie will be distributed in Germany, Canada and the states. The distribution will however be handled by different people. Focus Features will handle distribution in the United States, Squareone Entertainment will be handling Germany and Canada will be handles by Entertainment One. The principal photography was done in Montreal in an Olympic stadium in Berlin. This was in July 2014.

Release Date

Race was previously scheduled to be released on 8th April 2016 but this date was changed. The movie is now expected to be released 19th February 2016. The movie will be distributed I Germany, Canada and the United states on this date or a few days later depending with the countries.
