Richard Dreyfus and Blythe Danner co-star in Madoff movie

Richard Dreyfuss and Blythe Danner will play the roles of Bernie Madoff and Ruth Madoff respectively in the all new ABC’s movie; Madoff.
The movie is about the American master fraudster who was previously an investment broker, financier and stock broker. The man was a mean fraudster who orchestrated the Ponzi. Scheme’, which is considered to be by far the largest financial fraud scheme in the history of the United States. Investigators believe that the project may have begun somewhere in the mid-1980s or even back in the 70s. Those charged with recovering the money believe that the investment processes may have never been legitimate. The missing funds in clients’ accounts, totaled to over $65 billion. There were further losses to investors amounting to a further $18 billion, as per the SIPC estimates.

Madoff is based on the real life happenings of a real life criminal who operated at the highest level and bankrupted the rich and the poor alike. He gained popularity when he got caught yet the movie seems to be a little too generous to a sociopath who cared about nothing but himself. Though industry-wide greed and industry where the regulations are overlooked, were the ways Madoff used to master the trade of defrauding people and getting away Scott free, 'Madoff’ does not integrate this into the movie. Instead, the movie is about a man who has an insatiable will to break away from poverty and his lineage legacy of cancer inheritance. 'Madoff’ should be portrayed as cancer in the investment and financial industry.

When Madoff's wicked ways finally came to light disaster struck, one of his sons committed suicide by hanging himself, and the other one later died from 'mantle cell lymphoma’. Bernie Madoff married his wife Ruth back in 1959 when she was 18 years old. She admitted that when the truth about the fraud came out, she and her husband tried to commit suicide by taking a bunch of pills on the eve of Christmas 2008. 'Madoff’ attempts to bring out a rather good look at a man who did not have an ounce of decency in him.
The 160 minutes the movie is supposed to take is just inflated with a lot of theoretical occurrences. Director Raymond De Felitta and the script writer Ben Robbins might have done a good job in stretching the movie to four one hour long episode. Though, if you know the story’s theme, you just feel like you already know everything that’s bound to happen.

Bernie Madoff was later arrested and prosecuted, on March 12th, 2009 he pleaded guilty to 11 counts of felonies and was sentenced to 150 years in prison. He’s now about 77 year’s old sitting somewhere at the Butner Federal Correctional Institution. He’s scheduled to be released on the 14th of November in 2139. He will have to live to an age of about 201 which is not bad considering the pain he brought to the people he robbed. He can now watch his own life on screen and maybe he’ll get to see how he hurt other people and tore his family apart. 'Madoff’ the movie will premiere on the nights of February 3rd and 4th.
